Profile
I run the Kiss & Bite letterpress studio in Ocean Studios, Plymouth, UK. I mainly focus on political posters and run community letterpress workshops. As a former journalist, I like the materiality of letterpress – touch is truth – and the analogue process’s effect on language. We have just acquired a Heidelberg Windmill platen to complement our 1858 broadside Albion, FAG Control 405, and Harrild Octavo treadle platen (1895). We’re just beginning to break the rigidity of the letterpress grid with photopolymer techniques, and I’m also interested in lino reduction prints and photopolymer photogravure.
