Profile
Viv is a visual artist working mainly in printmaking, drawing, and photography, where exploration in one medium informs the artwork in others. The focus of her research during her MA in Printmaking evolved into exploring the possibilities of incorporating the digital into her print practice; her recent prints use laser cut matrices, made from her photographs and drawings which she can then layer up.Â
Viv uses walking as observation for her research into overlooked natural places within the city, especially its flora and fauna. She observes how the environment is used by locals and tourists alike and how these small oases might quickly disappear unless they are carefully conserved. Her work seeks to capture these places.
Viv has recently relocated her studio to Ocean Studios, Royal William Yard, Plymouth where she intends to run workshops and courses. Viv is the lead for CAMP Printkin and exhibits her work regularly in the UK.
