Printed homeland love that smells of the sea.
My name is Vivienne, I am a native “coastal child” (in German we say Küstenkind) from Lübeck, but live in the tranquil Weimar in Thuringia. To express my love of home, I mainly create lino prints & prints with maritime motifs. I love the strong and contrasting expression of the lino prints and find that they fit perfectly with the maritime images. They emphasize both the coolness and roughness of the sea in typical shiny weather and the softness and warmth of a light breeze on a summer evening.
I experiment with different motifs and try to bring them to life through linocut and printing. Different combinations of color and paper help me do this.
Maybe you can already smell the salt water or feel the sea air on your skin. No matter where you are. So the homesickness or wanderlust is not too loud.
