Lily Banks is an illustrator with an enthusiasm for printmaking. Themes frequently explored include modern architecture, botany and natural forms. The combination of organic shapes juxtaposed against uniformity and order is often present. Lily studied Illustration at Falmouth University and completed her degree in 2020.
Although Lily likes to create traditional, tight & planned pieces… Lily also likes to work with screen print in a more exploratory and improvised manner to achieve spontaneity in her work, which tends to create collections of one-off pieces. All of Lily’s prints begin as drawings in a sketchbook and from there they come to life in the print studio.
