Leila is a printmaker based in Surrey.
Her interest in printmaking began during her school years with screen printing using stencils. This sparked a passion that led her to pursue a Drawing and Print course at Bristol UWE, where she focused on screen printing and metal plate etching. It was here that Leila developed her unique style that empasises colour, figure, and form.
After graduating, Leila continued artistic practice alongside her job, joining a local print studio and working on her own projects. She has participated in art fairs and exhibited her work at various locations in the UK.
More recently, Leila has started exploring relief printing, particularly with lino, to better fit her small home studio. She has shifted her focus to capturing the beauty of everyday life and things that bring her joy, like an ice cold martini or a pair of juicy cherries.
Leila began printing her lino designs onto clothing. She enjoys transforming unloved items into cherished pieces, with sustainability at the heart of her approach. Nothing gives her more joy than seeing people wearing her creations.
