Lauren Evans Watson is a Greenville, South Carolina based printmaker who focuses primarily on linocuts. She began printmaking in 2017 while completing an introductory printmaking course for her B.A. in Studio Art at Berry College, where she fell in love with the process driven nature of print media and the sharp contrast created by the linocut method. Currently her work focuses on imagery from daily life and nature, with the goal to capture the vibrancy of small moments and scenes through high contrast depictions of pattern, line, and shape. When she’s not printmaking, Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who uses printmaking as an important part of maintaining her own mental health while also sharing the process of relief printmaking and accessible art with others.
