Profile
Heather is an illustrator from Stockport. Her work consists of figurative forms, dynamic composition, and playful colour palettes. She is a proud Stopfordian and the creative community that surrounds her significantly inspires her practice. Interested in all things kitsch, Heather’s work is nostalgic and playful, which contrasts with her love of brutalist buildings and northern england.
Alongside being a freelance illustrator, she also run arts workshops in print-based mediums, book making and mural making. She is founder of — Roots riso, a female ran risograph printing collective.
She is co – founder, and creative director of not-for-profit Stockport based arts hub Underbank Studios, where roots riso lives.
Heather studied at Stockport Art School and The University Of Sunderland, gaining a BA Hons in Illustration and an MA in Design. She works in a variety of contexts, from traditional and digital illustration, to large murals, printmaking, and animation.
