I am a Davey Podmore a Graphic Designer based in Cambridgeshire in the UK and this is my art. I am a partner in a leading local Design Agency but also create my own art in my spare time. I currently am obsessed by lino printing but in the past have had created screenprints that have been included in exhibitions along side some of my heroes of Graphic Design and illustration. Architecture is a massive passion of mine and inspires a lot of the work I do but wherever I go, be it the beach, my allotment or a trip abroad, I find I am inspired by things that I need to print from my own point of view.
EMBRACE THE IMPERFECTIONS
My Lino work by its very nature has its little quirks with each print being unique even though it is in a small batch edition using the same lino. Each small detail gives each piece its own identity and personality. In Japanese culture they all it WABI-SABI. It means to find peace in imperfection. Realising that nothing in life is perfect including yourself, your family, your friends and the people around you. We should all find joy in the imperfections that make life unique rather than the endless search for flawlessness.
