Profile
Andy has been a long time user/supporter/innovator/teacher of print and specifically screen printing. He wrote the book Screenprinting Today, the Basics to go along with instructional activities, and introduced or assisted many people to grow their skills. School kids to scientists, and everything in between. See also squeegeevillle.com wachiaystudio.com or history of screenprinting on Facebook.
His current project SCREEN the WORLD was accelerated by COVID and shutting down live instruction. It involves creating an online resource to teach the basics of screenprinting production using a set of easily constructed equipment.(Vacuum table, 1/colour t-shirt jig, exposing frame, and washout booth)
Plansets, videos of how to build, and then videos and written lessons showing how to set up and use the equipment plus troubleshooting tips from 40 year’s experience. It breaks the process into 8 steps, which form the starting point of all future printing on more advanced equipment. Tips for teachers, and ideas on how to make things that can turn into merch and money. Long known in the gig poster world as Andymac, he’s also got a podcast called Ad, Art, or Alchemy? where he interviews people around the world using screenprinting to make cool shit.
