Moonlight Press is a printmaking-based project space founded by master printers Nichol Markowitz and Courtney Sennish. Located in Oakland, CA, Moonlight Press offers a variety of project-based and contract printmaking services specializing in copper plate etching, photogravure, mokuhanga and Western woodblock, archival collage, and traditional Japanese mounting and backing techniques. In addition to artist projects and contract services, Moonlight Press is proud to offer a rotating selection of workshops including various etching processes, woodblock, archival collage, bookbinding, paper making and more.
Moonlight Press’s publishing program seeks to honor the technical and democratic traditions of analogue print media through a dedication to craftsmanship; uniting contemporary ideas with traditional processes and experimental applications. With more than 25 years of combined professional experience, master printers Nichol and Courtney blend their unique skill sets to push the boundaries of contemporary printmaking.
