Profile
The natural world inspires my work and currently focuses on stone – the solidity of something created over such epic expanses of time and immense heat, as well as the textures, lines, patterns, and shapes – I want to recreate those marks and bring them into focus.
My images echo my passion for instant photography by breaking up the frame, asking the viewer to look again and see things differently, contrasting details, zooming out to show scale, place, and landscape. ‘Etching and the intaglio process allows me to connect physically to my plates ‘carving’ the stones out of them.’
I don’t want to limit myself to one type of printmaking or creating. I love etching, but I also love making bold, graphic statements playing with colour in my linocut series of mildly miffed birds and my vinyl collaboration with Vinyl Night Radio.
I love experimenting and printmaking gives me so many varied and different tools to play with!
