Hailing from a hybrid background in brand communication and content marketing, Lyla is currently based in Shanghai, working as a content curator, editorial designer and community builder specialized in connecting people, brands and cultures through the art of storytelling.
Prior to establishing iroha, her studio-based practice in 2021, Lyla has developed a diversified portfolio in the areas of branded content strategy, creative content services and community program curation across agency, in-house and start-up settings following her passion and curiosity on stories and creativity. Brands she has worked with include Ruder Finn Public Relations, VICE, Vogue and Kerry Properties just to name a handful.
During her Master of Design Futures at RMIT University, she has been keen on exploring how human-centered design thinking, content-driven approach and community-oriented strategy might empower small and independent business leadership of new age to stay creative, relevant and sustainable with their endeavor to drive positive social impact, innovation and wellbeing.
Occasional graphic designer, illustrator and painter, Lyla constantly look to curating a dynamic balance and creative freedom between her personal art and professional works. POSTCARD, her personal art book project created during the pandemic 2020 has been selected by Melbourne Design Week/Art Book Fair 2022.
Koji, a new bilingual magazine in Chinese and English, a creative collaboration with Yuexia, her local client that explores our relationship with time, food and nature is just out. Koji is curated and designed by Lyla, published in Tokyo as an independent publication.
