Profile
Ewan Taylor, AKA Redbellyboy is a filmmaker and artist. Originally from Aberdeen, Scotland, he studied at Edinburgh College of Art before moving to London, where he lives with his brilliant wife, beautiful baby boy and constantly hungry cat. He works out of Print Club London in Hackney.
He draws inspiration from pop culture, film, graphic design and loud music and tries to squeeze as much of it into his work as possible. He likes bright colours, bold lettering, intricate designs, tea and trying to add some humour into his work. He dislikes mosquitos and writing about himself in the third person.
In 2020 and 2021 Redbellyboy was selected by Print Club London to create a print for the iconic Katharine Hamnett ‘Choose Love’ charity campaign.
He has exhibited twice at The Other Art Fair, London. FAD magazine underlined him as one of the best five of the fair. He also had his first solo exhibition The Farm’s William facility in Soho, London. And was one of 10 artists selected for the the ‘Rebirth’ exhibition at 99 Projects Gallery in London.
Collectors include Caroline Quentin, Paul Whitehouse and Frankie Boyle.
Coming up…
Another solo show at Gramarcy Park Studios in Soho, London. And one of my prints has been shortlisted for the RA Summer Exhibition 2022. Fingers are firmly crossed.
