Profile
My name is Kerry Pagdin, and I am the printmaker behind Wayward Citizen.
I create original linocut prints from my small farm near Nelson, BC, Canada.
My work is inspired by my rural upbringing, and a deep connection to animals and nature. Through images of animals, I often explore themes of life and death, or the impact that humans have on the creatures with whom we share this earth.
I completed a BFA in Visual Arts and Art History from the University of Victoria, where I majored in painting. It was not until 2018 that I began to explore relief printing in earnest, and I haven’t looked back. To me, painting always felt like an argument. Printmaking feels like a conversation.
