Todd Drake is a printmaker, activist, and educator living in New York City. Since his 2004 Rockefeller Fellowship, he has focused on human rights issues. Drake sheltered in place during the Covid pandemic in New York City. During that time he began wheat pasting his work on the many boarded up buildings across the city. Most recently, he exhibited a solo show on Global Warming in a flood-prone canoe club along the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn. Currently, he is researching and making work around this new exhibition Rebuild the Temple of Free Discussion, which is on the historic burning of Pennsylvania Hall by racists and its relation to the January 6th attack on the US Capital.
