My name is Samantha Jane, but feel free to just call me Sam. S.Jane Art is a passion project of mine to finally make art that I enjoy. After over 10 years as a conventional, corporate graphic designer, I started working on personal projects during the unfortunate down time of the current pandemic. I briefly learned about printmaking and relief block printing when I was at Flagler College for my Graphic Design degree. During my furlough, I decided to pick it back up, over 10 years later, since I always really enjoyed the process. I have been a bit addicted ever since.
My goal for S.Jane Art is to create art the speaks to me and to show support for important movements and foundations whenever possible. One of my favorite foundations to support is the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. I also have plans to support various wildlife foundations, climate change initiatives, and more. It is a strong belief of mine to show support when you can, even if it is just bringing about awareness, or donating a single dollar at a time.
My art tends to lean in on macabre, mythological, paranormal, and/or historical concepts. I find beauty in the dark and contemplation in the past. We should all look to the past to make a better future, be better than those that came before, and always be open to learning something new or seeing new perspectives. I hope you enjoy my art and see something that speaks to you as well.
