Pulp.gif creates handmade animations using linocut relief printing.
This process emerged out of a curiosity about time & multiples, and a desire to bring handcrafted work to life in an era of digital art and social media.
The resulting dynamic editions challenge the static nature of print, transmuting printed matter into flickering, hypnotic animations.
In this work, I try to coax movement out of the very solid, physical medium of linocut. There’s a tension in that which I enjoy. It feels like a way of carving open time and capturing the shadows of what bursts out.
