Profile
Hello, my name is Poppy Briggs and I am a recent graduate of Fine Art from Bath Spa University. Since completing my degree I have continued my studio practise with a focus on linocut techniques.
After completing a foundation year I have pursued my love of print both as part of my degree and in my spare time. During the first lockdown I set myself the task of creating a portfolio of original print designs in order to set up a small print business which I have called PoppyBCreative.
As a business it is important to me to create original quality work using traditional techniques and methods, which I have studied and experimented with throughout my degree. I also always have a mind to the sustainability of my processes. My love of printmaking drives this business and allows PoppyBCreative to have a friendly and passionate atmosphere, while also allowing me to pursue my love as a business venture.
PoppyBCreative is an independent business, which showcases my original hand printed personal gallery wall artworks as gifts to consumers wanting to create a personalised home environment.
My designs vary from pet and animals portraits to landscape and abstract designs these are all made using traditional linocut techniques but with a modern and popular aesthetic. Currently I am specifically focussing on refining my technique on fur texturing and mark making.
All of my products are made using sustainable processes and all packaging is eco-friendly. All products are designed and made by me from my bedroom studio in Milton Keynes.
I also offer commission based work and absolutely love creating special original pet portraits, which I send all over the world. Some of these works are memorial pieces which makes them all the more special.
I regularly post on social media about my processes and work and love to get feedback from such a diverse community not just of printmakers but the wider artistic community and others. I enjoy keeping up with publications such as Pressing Matters and Printmaking Today and continuing to learn about the process and techniques which drew me to printmaking in the first place. I love to share my work with others and hope that people enjoy seeing my work too.
Best wishes,
Poppy
