Profile
Berlin based artist duo, Magdalena Wysocka and Claudio Pogo, design and produce artists’ books, multiples and prints in their studio Outer Space Press.
Our art practice is based on collecting and recontextualizing photography, found books, and other archival print material to create new visual narratives.
Outer Space Press was created from a dream of being truly independent.
The idea simply came from trying to bridge a production gap between hand crafted books and industrial printing and bookbinding. It allows us to produce our work in small print runs between 100 and 300 copies entirely in house.
The studio is being gradually built since 2016. It now consists of 2 Risographs MZ770, a Karl Krause A3 embossing press, Brehmer 39 3/4 2 section sewing machine and various smaller bookbinding tools.
Combining experience in publishing, printmaking and photography, Outer Space Press is a resource for artists’ books, a platform for collaboration and experimental book design studio, that puts a strong focus on finding the best ways to shape ideas into the book form.
We combine contemporary book and editorial design with keeping the practice of traditional bookbinding alive.
It is a place to produce our own projects but also to invite and allow artists, publishing houses and self–publishers to collaborate with us.
