Profile
Leigh Bagley is a textile and pattern designer, celebrated for his prominent use of colour and geometric forms. His work redefines contemporary art and pattern for interiors and public buildings, directly taking influence from everyday surroundings and a love of modernist and abstract aesthetics.
A graduate of the renowned Royal College of art in London, Leigh set up his studio in 2012 retailing Limited Edition artwork alongside wallpaper and fabric collections. He is also a part-time lecturer at the Glasgow School of Art.
Leigh’s fascination with abstract pattern and colour leads his creative processes, where each print is meticulously digitally planned. Proportion, saturation and opacity of colour is then considered for each design.
Leigh currently works with Newmor Wallcoverings on a collection of large scale abstract mural designs for commercial international clients. The large scale abstract geometrics in dynamic colour palettes have been a big part of the Newmor collection for a number of years.
Leigh was also commissioned in 2018 by NHS Forth Valley for an innovative commission to design 21 ‘Artwalls’ for the new 116 room Bellfield Centre and GP minor Injuries Clinic, Stirling, Scotland. Alongside this he curated and purchased over 200 contemporary prints of leading and emerging artists.
He continues to work on international commission across a range of domestic and commercial interior sectors.
