Based on the rural peninsula of Islandmagee, Lauren Clarke is a Northern Irish artist and recent graduate of the Ulster University where she specialised in Fine Art, printmaking.
Lauren’s practice involves a range of techniques including large-scale screenprinting, collagraphs, lino and mono printing with a focus on bold colours, abstract form and juxtaposition. Inspired by cultural traditions, mythologies and psychoanalytic theory, Lauren’s current practice is an investigation of symbolism; challenging the interpretation of imagery and transgenerational storytelling.
Now studying for her MSc in Art Therapy, Lauren hopes to carry her printmaking practice into the realm of therapy with the intent to highlight printmaking’s unique and diverse potential beyond the doors of the artist’s studio.
