Kristen Nelson

Kristen Nelson is an American printmaker currently working as the print shop technician at Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice Italy. She graduated with a degree in Studio Art from Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts. Her work consists primarily of aquatint etchings that explore the concept of returning home and the feeling of nostalgia which is depicted through the interplay between light and shadow. By illuminating the journey home, Kristen’s artwork represents a desire to find connection amidst distance. Both metaphorical and literal distance between the subject and where they are going. The artwork is a vessel to keep the memories alive.
