TRAINING AND ACTIVITIES
After a few years of painting in the studio of the painter Paul Gobert at the Academy of Fine Arts in Watermael-Boitsfort, Jean-Michel Uyttersprot turned to engraving, photography and video.
In 2004, he studied engraving in Paul Dumont’s workshop at the Art School of Braine-l’Alleud (Belgium). He will be attending Paul Dumont’s workshop until 2014. He leads engraving workshops.
He is a member of the artists’ collective “Comme un week-end à la mer”, of the Liège association “La Nouvelle Poupée d’encre” and of the association of French engravers: Le Trait – Graveurs d’aujourd’hui.
In 2015, with his partner Catho Hensmans, they created the Gallery and the editions K1L and published the review “Actuel, l’Estampe contemporaine”.
He also created the Facebook group “Parlons Gravure”, which now has almost 11,800 members from all five continents.
His works are part of public collections such as: the City of Jodoigne and the City of Chamalières (France).
