Profile
Emily is a printmaker based in Nottingham, working with silk screen to produce a range of textile and paper screen prints to brighten your hearts and hallways.
Emily is a screen print technician working at Loughborough University. Which is where she graduated from with a degree in Textiles in 2016. After graduating Emily went to work in London as a Print Designer for a fashion house, here she was mostly translating her drawings and paintings into digital repeats or placement prints. She knew her passions were for screen printing and so moved back up to the midlands to pursue a career in it. Working as a screen print technician at Loughborough University not only gives the support she needs to explore and continue her creative practice, but also provides constant inspiration.
In her spare time Emily’s printmaking practice focuses primarily on silkscreen printing, creating her own range of fabric and paper prints. Her work exhibits a love for colour, shape, pattern and texture. Through the process of screen printing, Emily loves to experiment with abstract marks and strong colour combinations. Her practice often combines these elements to produce bold and colourful artworks. She will often work with layering of processes to create textured surface quality to her prints.
Each design is hand drawn, exposed onto screen and printed by Emily in Lougborough University’s print room. All prints are done in her spare time around working as a technician on the Textiles degree programme.
