An English-sounding Scotsman most at home in the Orient, E Merlin Murray is currently nestled in the frozen north of Europe with some Japanese brush pens and a big bottle of ink.
He is a recent graduate of the Illustration BA at the University of Cumbria in Carlisle, and a recipient of the D&AD ‘Ones to Watch’ award 2020.
His practice is largely drawing led, but encompasses various types of printmaking as well as animation, both traditional and digital. He makes his own screen prints and Lino cuts which you can find for sale via his website.
His first book of drawings, Mysterium Conscientia, was published to critical acclaim in 2019 and his second is due in 2021.
