Caroline is an illustrator with a penchant for design, people-watching, and the idiosyncrasies of strangers. Her illustrations are recognised for their roguish sense of humour, and identified by their off-kilter figural compositions and characteristic warm tones. Her recent work features a range of block printed textiles, hand-drawn and painted illustration, digital illustration, animation, and embroidery.
Caroline’s work is inspired by her experience of inhabiting an imperfect, doughy flesh suit in a digital world. Her illustrations touch on themes of food, nature, gender, social media, mental health and work-life balance, bringing dark absurdity and colour to editorial, branding, packaging and advertising contexts.
Caroline’s background in architecture and installation design inform her creative and professional practice. She’s a dab hand at DIY and problem-solving, and brings these skills to every project. Past clients include the BBC, Peirene Press, and Dazed Digital.
