Rachel Mentzer

Rachel Mentzer is a printmaker transforming discarded materials into fine art through an eco-conscious approach to collagraph and chine collé. Her work explores sustainability, environmental renewal, and nature’s resilience, critiquing overproduction and celebrating nature’s ability to reclaim human-made spaces. Using repurposed boxes and industrial debris, she carves layered cardboard into collagraph plates, prints them intaglio, and incorporates washi and Kozo papers to highlight themes of fragility and transformation. Her sustainable, non-toxic practice reimagines traditional printmaking, emphasizing texture, transparency, and depth.
