“To be away from home and yet to feel oneself everywhere at home; to see the world, to be at the centre of the world, and yet to remain hidden from the world – impartial natures which the tongue can but clumsily define. The spectator is a prince who everywhere rejoices in his own incognito”
-Baudelaire

Printmaking/Painting
John Livingston works to shape and form creatures that reveal his own collective experience and subconsciousness. One of my favorite responses has been…”Boy you’ve got some bugs in your head.” Silkscreen prints are crafted from select original drawings that are never preplanned…but emanate from feeling and personal experience. The drawings are then dropped into Procreate on an i-pad and elaborated upon digitally until they are ready to turn into prints. The collection ranges from fun, free, and whimsy to guttural, solemn, and morose, mimicking the artist’s mind in symbolic metaphor.
