Profile
Susana McDonnell is a Boston, MA based lifelong artist and teacher who holds a BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She has practiced and taught many artistic disciplines, including, but not limited to glassblowing, neon, drawing, painting, watercolor and just about every other form of printmaking except relief printing, which she has finally settled on. She is mesmerized by the process of creating geometric patterns and block printing them on fabric. The suspense of finding out how her selected fabrics, patterns, colors and inks will interact never fails to keep her coming back for more.
She is a foodie, a travel junkie and an architecture lover who frequently reaches out to other artists and meets them during her trips abroad. She loves sharing her knowledge with others and teaches both in-person and online workshops. She is also a Speedball Demo Artist who has been trained to use and demonstrate their many printmaking products. She is also the co-host of #printersolstice with Mindy Schumacher. #printersolstice is an Instagram-based campaign which provides printmaking prompts to printmakers around the world during the winter solstice.
